Launch for Oliive in Feb 2009
Oliive, a new range of shampoo, lotion and cream will be launched in 2009. Oliive shampoo will be the first product to be launched on 2nd February 2009.

The emphasis for this product range will be small consumer sizes at affordable rates. Product quality is excellent and pricing is very good.
Kenya's new Finance minister

Mr Uhuru Kenyatta was appointed on 23rd Jan 2009 as Finance minister of East Africa's biggest economy.

Mr Kenyatta was previously the minister for Trade in the coalition government

Shilling and the Kenya stock exchange remain stable. Kenya's main NSE-20 share index is expected to trade steady this week as brokers seek direction from the annual results from the financial sector.

The products that we are involved with in brand building are products which we feel have long-term potential. We realize that some investment is needed for the brand in order to achieve good long-term returns. Successful branding ensures that the life cycle of a particular product is extended.  To recognize the appropriate mediums for marketing and brand building ensures that mileage is extracted in terms of funds spent on branding.

We do endeavor to use all mediums available and not just the obvious ones. We have had considerable success with the branding of ethnic hair care products in Kenya. The entrenchment of our brands within this market has involved working extensively with the salon sector in terms of education and also promoting products. In the retail category we are currently embarked on implementing planograms in several of the channels that we service. For those not familiar to this term- a planogram is the way in which products are displayed that will maximize throughput. In the retail category we also run promotions in-store and work with merchandisers in respect to maintaining quality of displays. We also have branded our vehicles and have used outdoor advertising to good effect. We are able to negotiate favorable prices with some of the outdoor companies that we deal with.

    Branding is an extremely important exercise due to an increasingly discerning consumer. The investment made in branding can yield return for a much longer period.
